Measurement
buyer
A buyer is the blockchain address that paid. This site also calls that address a payer. On x402 it is the USDC sender. On an MPP session it is the payer in the Tempo Settled event. Headline payer counts for the last 7 days and last 30 days are distinct across that period. Addresses inside one chart bar are distinct only inside that bar, so the bars do not add up to the headline.
Explanation
The 24 hour payer count is summed from hourly buckets. The same address can appear in more than one hour, so that count is not a distinct-buyer total for the day. The page that shows it says so. Distinct does not mean distinct people. One person or agent can use many addresses, and many agents can share a facilitator-sponsored flow while the token sender remains the buyer address on the transfer.
Organic's three-buyer test uses distinct buyers of that seller in the selected window. Use-case payer totals add sellers together and can count the same payer more than once. Those are different statistics. They are labeled separately so they are not compared as if they were the same count.
