Measurement

payer

A payer is the blockchain address that sent the payment. On x402 it is the USDC sender. On an MPP session it is the payer named in the Tempo Settled event. This site says payer. Measurement notes also say buyer for the same address. A payer count is addresses, not people.

Explanation

Payer counts for the last 7 days and the last 30 days are distinct addresses across that period. A chart bar is distinct only inside that hour or day, so the bars do not add up to the headline. The 24-hour count is summed from hours and can repeat an address.

One person or agent can use many addresses. Use-case payer totals add sellers together and can count the same payer more than once. The methodology page states both rules.
