Assets and chains
Base
Base is an Ethereum layer 2. Its chain id is 8453, and the CAIP-2 identifier is eip155:8453. x402 facilitators settle USDC on Base, and Coinbase's own examples use that network. This index scans Base USDC transfers whose sender is a registered facilitator wallet.
Explanation
Base's network docs publish the chain id and RPC details. The USDC contract the index reads is Circle's 6-decimal USDC on Base. The counted payment is the transfer the buyer authorized. A fee paid to the facilitator, and any extra hop, is stored and left out of the totals.
Base volume is a chain slice of x402, not a separate protocol. The chain page shows that slice. Protocol share is a different cut of the same settlements. Adding Base's total to the x402 total would double-count.
