About Agent GDP

Agent GDP measures how much money AI agents pay each other and online services, using public payment records. Think of it as a scoreboard for agentic commerce: when an AI assistant pays a few cents for a search result or a data feed, and that payment settles on a blockchain, it shows up here.

Why it exists

Analysts, investors and journalists keep asking the same question: is anyone actually paying for agent services, and how much? Most answers are anecdotes or vendor claims. We publish dated, sourced numbers that anyone can check and reuse.

What we count, and what we don't

We count settled payments made through two open standards: x402 (pay per web request) and MPP, the Machine Payments Protocol (pay per session). Payments that never settle, and protocols without a public record, such as card-network agent programs, are explained but not counted. Coverage is incomplete, so treat our totals as a floor. The rules are on the methodology page. Plain answers are in the FAQ. The same figures are in the API.

How we stay neutral

Sponsorship never affects rankings, figures or methodology. Sponsored placements are always labeled and kept separate from the data.

Rankings are computed from settled payments only. They are never for sale, and sponsored placements are always labeled. Our methodology, including every threshold, is public.

Who runs it

Agent GDP is an independent, self-funded project built by a blockchain data enthusiast with a background in payments. No facilitator, protocol or investor funds it or reviews our numbers before they go live.
