shared payment token
A shared payment token is a Stripe credential for agent checkout. The agent grants a seller limited use of a customer's payment method, with an amount cap and an expiry. The seller uses the token to create a payment on Stripe. It is not a blockchain transfer, and it is not an x402 payment payload.
Explanation
Stripe documents shared payment tokens for agent-initiated purchases in supported countries. The seller receives the token, not the underlying card. Stripe sends a webhook when the token is used, resolved, expired, or revoked. OpenAI's delegated payment spec describes the same shape: the agent requests a one-time delegated payment, the provider returns a token, and the merchant charges it with its processor. Stripe's token is the first implementation that guide names.
ACP checkout completion can carry the token in payment_data with provider stripe. The merchant remains responsible for the charge. Because the capture happens inside Stripe and the merchant, there is no public log for Agent GDP to add. A stablecoin transfer that happens to be initiated by the same agent is counted only if it independently matches the x402 or MPP rules.
